To remove the door lock screen, just pull it out of the opening that holds it in place. The castle actually runs from one side of the frame to the other and there is nothing that holds the latch in place except the assembly homes. Then you should be able to just pull it out of the plug. Install the new lock to the sliding screen door by pushing the new lock plate through the crack where you removed the old one. But when you put the new lock, make sure not to push it completely. Leave a gap of about 1/2 inch or so between the edge of the latch and the frame of the sliding screen dies. Then place the two plastic pieces of the construction housing and on each side of the frame. Place the lock so that it is situated in the slot on the assembly housing and then tighten plastic pieces together over the lock with the provided screws.
